Convallaria majalis, Lily-Of-The-Valley

Better known as the Lily of the Valley – C. majalis is a perennial to 30cm in height and forming extensive colonies. Erect racemes of nodding, bell-shaped, fragrant white flowers arise with the paired, elliptic leaves. They are a herbaceous perennial that grow best where there is dappled light and in soils that are rich in organic material and free-draining. Ideal in a woodland setting.
