Marie Simon makes a lovely display of pink fluffy flower clusters that bloom in summer and again in the autumn. The plant is also deciduous, unlike most ceanothus which are evergreen. In winter the bare stems are a showy red colour, so remain attractive when the plant is out of leaf. Its a lovely, long lived shrub and reach an ultimate height and width of around 1.5m to 2m. May be pruned back to maintain size and shape. Plant in a sheltered, sunny position where soils are well-drained. Tolerates periods of drought.
