Also known as Snowberry, Fool’s Beech, Tawiniwini or Koropuka. Gaultheria antipoda is an erect or spreading evergreen shrub which grows to between 1m and 2m high. Produces small, white, bell-shaped flowers in summer followed by red, white or pink berries in autumn. Prefers semi-shade in humus rich soils that are moist but free-draining.
