Better known as Karaka. A handsome, upright growing tree with a dense covering of glossy green foliage. Has small white flowers in spring, followed by the orange berries that were highly valued by Maori, however the kernel of this berry is poisonous. Plant in full sun or partial shade and frost free. Tolerates dry conditions and may be grown in coastal locations. Evergreen native.
