Has dark, purple-red foliage during summer which then becomes a paler, scarlet-red colour in autumn. Plant in a sunny, sheltered position where soils are evenly moist, fertile and free-draining. Like most Maples, A. Bloodgood is a superb choice as a feature/specimen tree.
Typically grows to between 3m and 4m both in height and width.
