The limequat tree produces an abundance of fruit even at a young age. The fruit is small, oval, greenish-yellow and contains seeds or pips. It has a sweet-tasting skin and a bitter-sweet pulp. A citrofortunella hybrid that is the result of a cross between the key lime and the kumquat. Excellent alternative to lime or lemon, providing a more unique flavour!
Relatively cold hardy tree. However, it is mostly a heat loving plant that thrives in tropical / subtropical climates. Ideally plant in a spot where it receives some shade throughout the day, and protected from cold winds.
