Amistad are popular due to their long flowering period with flowers emerging in early summer and lasting until the first of the autumn frosts. A bushy, upright perennial with rich purple-blue flowers and calyces that are purple-black in colour. Best grown in a sheltered position with full sun where soils are reasonably fertile with medium moisture and free-draining. Evergreen in warmer climates.
Grows to about 1.5m in height and may spread upto 1.8m.
