Better known as Russian Sage. Produces a mass of small violet-blue flowers on large, plume-like panicles from mid-summer and into autumn. Foliage is finely dissected, grey-green in colour and aromatic. Plant in a sunny position where soils are average to fertile and free-draining. Suitable for growing in coastal locations. Grows to between 90cm and 120cm both in height and width. Cut back in late winter to early spring. Hardy perennial.
