A cold hardy evergreen bromeliad with narrow, stiff green foliage with central leaves turn bright red just as the flowers begin to emerge. The flower consists of a tight cluster of small, blue flowers with yellow anthers. Best grown in full sun that is a free-draining area. Will only tolerate light frosts, dry periods and suitable for coastal locations. May also be grown in containers.
May grow up to 50cm in height and 150cm wide.
