(c.1810). Regarded as one of the best ever cooking apples, light and fluffy when cooked. Firm, tart and acid flesh yet sweet with good flavour and juicy. Has a medium to large, round conical shape, pale yellow skin with red stripes when fully ripe. Excellent keeping qualities. Large spreading, long lived tree. Self fertile.
