Better known as Witch Hazel. Hamamelis x intermedia hybrids are a cross between H. japonica (Japanese witch hazel) and H. mollis (Chinese witch hazel). Produces sweetly fragrant, pale lemon-yellow flowers from late winter to spring. Can be grown in either full sun or partial shade in average type soils that are moist but free-draining. May grow to between 3.5m and 4.5m both in height and width. A hardy, deciduous shrub with foliage that provides good autumn colour.
