A hardy shrub with dark green, semi-glossy foliage and producing a mass of purple-pink flowers with a red centre from early to mid-spring. Best grown in partial shade where soils are evenly moist, rich in humus, slightly acidic and free-draining.
They grow to about 1.8m in height and upto 1,5m wide.
