Also known as White Pine and Kahikatea. A native, coniferous tree of New Zealand that may grow to over 50m in height. Pollen-bearing cones are produced on the male trees and small red berries are produced on the female trees. These berries are then eaten by birds such as the pigeon. Tolerates wet conditions. Juvenile trees have soft, drooping needle-like foliage that is bronze in colour. Hardy.
