Dacrycarpus dacrydiodes, White Pine – Pb6.5

Also known as White Pine and Kahikatea. A native, coniferous tree of New Zealand that  may grow to over 50 metres in height. Pollen-bearing cones are produced on male trees and small red berries are produced on female trees which are eaten by native birds such as the pigeon. Tolerates wet conditions. Juvenile trees have soft, drooping needle-like foliage that is bronze in colour. Hardy.
