These are also known as Lignum vitae with leaflet being larger than other species of Sophora and they have a large, woody swelling at the base of the stem known as a lignotuber. Evergreen with an upright, spreading growth habit and producing clusters of golden-yellow flowers in Spring through into early Summer. Best grown in a sheltered position with full sun and average to fertile soils that are free-draining.
Grows to between 10m and 15m in height and between 8m to 10m in width.
