Lavandula allardii is a hybrid lavender variety, often called Allard’s Lavender, known for its tall, elegant flower spikes, fragrant grey-blue foliage, and tolerance for heat and humidity. This evergreen shrub is a cross between Lavandula dentata and Lavandula latifolia and thrives in full sun and well-drained soil, making it suitable for borders, hedges, or container planting.

Foliage: Silvery-gray, dentate (toothed) leaves that are aromatic.
Flowers: Long, elegant spikes of blue to violet flowers that bloom from late spring through fall
Growth Habit: Upright, robust growth, reaching up to 1.5 meters tall and 1 meter wide
Scent: Both the flowers and foliage are fragrant.

Growing conditions
Sun: Full sun is required for optimal growth.
Soil: Prefers well-drained soil; it can tolerate poor, sandy, or calcareous soil but will grow poorly in overly rich, wet conditions.
Water: Drought-tolerant once established, but needs protection from harsh frost and wet soil while establishing.
Hardiness: Hardy and can tolerate dry periods and light frosts.
Uses and maintenance
Landscaping: Ideal for borders, hedges, mixed plantings, and as a focal point.
Container gardening: Can be grown in pots, especially in areas with less-than-ideal soil.
Aromatherapy and crafts: Fragrant flowers and foliage can be used for potpourri, aromatherapy, and other crafts.
Pruning: Light, regular pruning after flowering encourages denser growth and can prolong the blooming season. Avoid cutting into old wood.
Fertilizing: A handful of slow-release, potassium-rich fertilizer can be applied after pruning
