Also known as Japanese Chinquapin and Copper False Chestnut. An evergreen tree that produces white flowers in spring, followed by the edible seed in autumn. Prefers partial shade where soils are slightly acidic, fertile, moist but free-draining. Water through the drier months.

Grows to approximately 15m x 10m.
